Robert Lewandowski has scored 23 goals and provided eight assists for Barcelona this season but they are not the best statistics of his career.
The Polish striker has had a brilliant career full of goals and has often been on the shortlist of contenders to win the Ballon d'Or. However, he has never won the highest individual award as a footballer.
The 35-year-old was asked in an interview for 'Sport Bild' who he thought could win the next Ballon d'Or. The Barcelona player's answer surprised many as his short list of leading candidates included two players from rival teams.
"It’s difficult to say because we still have the European Championship and the last, decisive games in the Champions League ahead of us. But at the moment Kylian Mbappe and Jude Bellingham are the outstanding players in the world for me," he said.
Real Madrid's Bellingham is on the list of La Liga's top goalscorers along with Lewandowski while Mbappe is being heavily linked with a move to the Spanish capital next summer.
