Lisandro Martinez set alarm bells ringing at Manchester United when the centre-back picked up a knee injury in the Red Devils' 3-0 Premier League win over West Ham. United fans were even more concerned when Erik ten Hag confirmed at a press conference that 'Licha's injury did not look good.
However, the Old Trafford outfit confirmed in an official statement on their social media that the Argentine does not have a cruciate ligament injury and will not need surgery, although he is expected to be out for up to two months.
Lisandro, who could be back for the final Premier League games and the FA Cup advanced seasons should Manchester United progress, broke his silence following the injury by sending a message of encouragement to United fans.
"I want to give a heartfelt thanks for the great support I’ve received and to reassure you that I’ll soon be back out there, and we’ll fight together. Always united!," said the Argentina international.
