Liverpool are aware of the investment they will have to make next season if they are to make the leap in quality they are looking for in midfield. A possible reinforcement could be Manuel Ugarte, from Sporting CP.
'Record' published that the Anfield entity will give the go-ahead to execute the €52 million termination clause agreed in the contract of the 22-year-old Uruguayan midfielder.
Manuel Ugarte has a contract with Sporting CP until June 30, 2026. In other words, the only way for the Uruguayan to leave the Jose Alvalade is to break the bank for him.
James Milner, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita will leave Merseyside next season. The Reds midfield needs a breath of fresh air and Jurgen Klopp approves the addition of the talented midfielder.
Manuel Ugarte is also wanted by Barcelona. However, the poor financial situation of the 'cules' leads us to believe that Liverpool will have no rival in the negotiation and will fight alone to reach a successful conclusion with Sporting CP.
