Manchester City's impressive run at home has come to an end. The Sky Blues had won all the home games they had played this 2023 until today.
Trent Alexander-Arnold's goal ended the resistance of the Cityzens, who dropped points at the Etihad Stadium for the first time since 31st December 2022.
Since then, Manchester City had won 23 in a row in front of their home fans. A run that began on 8th January, in the FA Cup against Chelsea, and ended this Sunday against Liverpool.
15 of those 23 wins were in the Premier League. From Tottenham on 19th January to Bournemouth on 4th November. They also beat Liverpool last season, the very team that has taken the record away from them.
Added to that are FA Cup wins over Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley; and Champions League victories over RB Leipzig, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Red Star and Young Boys. In this 23-match winning streak, Manchester City have averaged 3.3 goals for and just 0.47 goals conceded.
