Liverpool sink Lille to seal Champions League last 16 ticket
Liverpool sealed a 2-1 win against Lille on Tuesday in the Champions League to cement their place into the knockout stages. Lille's hopes to make it into the top-eight places were halted following the defeat at Anfield.

A relatively even display in the first half ends with Liverpool holding the advantage. Mo Salah opened the scoring in the 34th minute as he was released on the counter-attack by Curtis Jones to put the ball past Chevalier. The French side thought their game was over when Mandi was shown a second yellow card in the 59th minute but David grabbed the leveller three minutes later. Midfielder Elliott crushed Lille's hopes for a point as sealed the game with a goal in the 67th minute.
