Freshly arrived at Liverpool at the start of the summer, Dominik Szoboszlai has big ambitions and makes no secret of it. In an interview with 'The Guardian', the Hungarian shared his desire to win every trophy possible this season with the Reds.
"If you ask me if I want to win the Premier League, of course I want to win it. If I want to win the Europa League and the FA Cup, it's the same thing. Everything we can do this year. I want to win it all, because nobody will ask you how you feel when you come second," admitted the former RB Leipzig and RB Salzburg player, with whom he shared the dressing room of a certain Erling Haaland, now a major rival in the domestic championship.
But despite his friendship with the Norwegian striker, Szoboszlai would be happy to beat him: "He's a very good friend, but I don't really care about him for these 95 or 100 minutes. He probably won't either. That's normal. I'm looking to help my team-mates and myself, and if I score a goal in the last minute, I'll be even happier.
After a 1-1 draw at Chelsea and a 3-1 win over Bournemouth, the clash at Newcastle will be a good test of Liverpool's ability. However, the Hungarian midfielder is confident: "Even if it's difficult and there are some very good teams in the Premier League, we're also very good, we have a very good coach and some very good players. We're going to do our best and at the end of the day, I want to be first."
