"Lookman is one of the worst penalty takers I’ve ever seen" - Gasperini hits out at his OWN striker

Atalanta coach Gian Piero Gasperini was quick to hit out at his side's star player Ademola Lookman for missing a penalty that would have brought 'La Dea' closer to a comeback against Brugge.

Atalanta were eliminated earlier than expected. The Italian team was surprised by Brugge, who before the break were already winning 0-3 in Italy, with a 2-1 lead from the first leg.
With the score at 1-3 and with the chance to get back into the tie, 'La Dea' had a penalty to make it a provisional 2-3, a chance taken by Ademola Lookman, one of the team's star players. However, the Nigerian missed and drew the ire of his coach.
“Ademola Lookman is one of the worst penalty takers I have ever seen. The penalty clearly shouldn't have been taken by him. He has very low percentages, even in training,” Gian Piero Gasperini said in the press room.
“He wanted to take the penalty because he had just scored. He took the ball even though Retegui and De Ketelaere were available to shoot.... I didn't like what Lookman did,” confessed the Italian coach.
