Dodi Lukebakio arrived at the RCD Stadium in the form of Friday, bagging a first-half brace to give his side the lead at half-time. Both goals were tight finishes with superb shots, although he chose different performances for each, depending on the needs of the game.
Espanyol started with more of the ball, dominance and ambition, but it was Sevilla who took the lead after 20 minutes. Lokonga found the Belgian, who opened the scoring in just three touches. He controlled the ball, turned it and, with the inside of his left boot, fired just over the top from half height and close to the post, which was an impossible ball for Joan Garcia.
But that wonderful strike did not satisfy Lukebakio who, just before half-time, scored a brace, with a low shot, close to the opposite post and with a little more power, to make it 0-2 and bring his team a little closer to victory.
