Alexis Mac Allister, who was signed by Liverpool from Brighton & Hove Albion in the summer transfer window, will find himself between a rock and a hard place in the Europa League group stage.
Jurgen Klopp's Reds will play LASK of Austria, Union Saint-Gilloise of Belgium and French Cup holders Toulouse in Group E. Kevin Mac Allister, who is blood related to the Liverpool midfielder, plays for the Belgian side.
The Anfield club are appearing in the Europa League for the first time since 2015/16, when they lost the final to Sevilla, after finishing fifth in last season's Premier League.
Both brothers started their football career in the academy of Argentinos Juniors, as did Facundo, the older brother who now plays for Rosario Central.
There are still no official dates for the Europa League group stage fixtures but the Reds are favourites to lift the European trophy after failing to qualify for the Champions League.
