A scruffy first half came to an end with Spurs leading at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. James Maddison broke the deadlock in the 19th minute as he pounced Andre Onana's rebounded save from 4 yards. Man United had chances to equalise, their clearest with Garnacho, but Postecoglou's men ended up claiming a deserving win as the former Leicester midfielder's first-half goal was the decider. The defeat is Amorim men's eighth in 12 league games, leaving them in 15th place. The last time they were that low in the standings at this stage of the season was in 1989-90.
