Samuel Chukwueze has had his best season to date. In his 5th season with Villarreal, the striker has doubled his G/A numbers since last season, providing the club with 13 goals and 11 assists this season.
Now the young Nigerian international is attracting attention from clubs all over Europe. 'Mundo Deportivo' reports that Aston Villa, Everton and Newcastle are amongst the clubs interested, and the latest to the party is Real Madrid.
When Madrid last played Quique Setien's side, Chukwueze put two stunners past Madrid and received high praise from his coach as his side beat the 'Merengues' 2-3.
"He has maintained a great level of performance and I hope he keeps it up because, on days like today, he's decisive", said the Spaniard.
"For a few weeks he's been giving us a lot, he's a permanent threat. Not just in goals, but in passes, chances, he's an extraordinary player who is giving us a lot", added the former Barcelona boss.
Now according to journalist Pedro Pablo Parrado, Perez envisions bringing the Nigerian to Madrid's cause and lining him up alongside Vinicius Jr. up front.
Chukwueze is under contract with Villarreal until the end of next season, with a release clause of 100 million euros, although the same outlet reports this may drop to 80 million this summer. It remains to be seen whether Madrid can tempt the striker away from his current club.
