With the season practically over and nothing at stake, Real Madrid and its sporting management are already working hard on the renewals of those players whose contracts expire this summer. Questions stil remain regarding Marco Asensio, Nacho Fernández and Dani Ceballos.
Asensio's future is far from the Santiago Bernabeu after rejecting the last offer, but 'Marca' reported that the situation would be different with the midfielder. According to the aforementioned source, the club have presented Ceballos with a new renewal offer to continue as a Real Madrid player.
Unlike his teammate, the Andalusian is seriously considering whether to accept or decline Florentino Perez's offer. The proposal is close to what the midfielder wants, but still falls short of expectations set by the player himself.
Meanwhile, other teams are still waiting to see what happens around the future of the Spain international, like Betis or some teams in Italy. Ceballos has given priority to the 'Merengue' side and the leaders of the club want to take a few days before the final decision.
Since January, when it seemed that the easiest thing to do was to leave, the Andalusian has rejected proposals in order to get the minutes that he hadn't been seeing. Then, he started to play more and the explosion came in the match against Villarreal, where he single-handedly changed everything.
The former Betis player gave an assist to Vinicius for the 1-2, set up the cross for Militao's later 2-2 and scored the definitive 2-3 to send his team to the next round of the Copa del Rey. The midfielder has had minutes, but without getting what he considers to be enough.
Another factor that Ceballos is studying is the possible arrival of Jude Bellingham at the Spanish side. The Englishman would arrive to start, something that would make it difficult for the Spaniard to continue in a midfield in which Kroos and Modric look set to be regulars for the 2023-24 season.
