What has been an open secret for several months is just days - or even hours - away from being confirmed. Kylian Mbappe will be a Real Madrid player from the 2024/25 season. This was confirmed on Sunday by journalist Fabrizio Romano, who considers the player's transfer to be sealed and finalised.
The forward and Real Madrid have already signed all the necessary documents to guarantee the link between the two parties. And most importantly, the signing will be made official this week, before the start of the European Championship.
As a result, Mbappe will bring to an end a seven-season spell at Paris Saint-Germain, with whom he has made history in domestic competitions with titles and multiple goals, but always with the task of guiding the Parisians to the Champions League, which his new club has just won for the 15th time.
That Mbappe would leave the Parc des Princes in the summer of 2024 was well known from the moment he decided not to activate the extra year of his contract to remain in the French capital in 2025. All the rumours pointed to a move to Real Madrid, who have been fighting for his services for years.
Now, Mbappe's arrival in Spain is a done deal, pending an official announcement from the club. What's more, according to Fabrizio Romano, the French star's arrival in Spain had been decided by the player since last February, with the forward having it clear that his only possible destination was the Santiago Bernabeu.
