La Liga confirmed that it has presented itself, on Monday, before the Provincial Information Brigade of Madrid to expand the complaint for the insults and racist gestures that took place during 'El Clasico’ at the Santiago Bernabeu, with the contribution of new images. The body said that Real Madrid has joined in and has also submitted information to help identify those responsible for the insults hurled from the stands at Barcelona players Lamine Yamal, Raphinha and Ansu Fati.
La Liga, which received information about the incidents through its complaints channel, formalised a complaint to the National Police on Sunday, informed the Hate Crimes and Discrimination Unit of the Attorney General's Office, and requested a lip reading of the images to identify the insults.
The offensive gestures and insults directed from the Santiago Bernabéu stands at the Barcelona players were recorded by some of the spectators and published on various social networks. La Liga, which, on a weekly basis, sends a written complaint to the disciplinary bodies of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) and the Anti-Violence Commission for the chants and offensive behaviour recorded at matches in its competition, collects, through its LALIGAVS platform, reports, suggestions and requests from fans attending matches.
For years, it has been asking for more authority to be able to combat the problem of violence in football. The Standing Committee of the Anti-Violence Commission, made up of representatives of the Consejo Superior de Deportes (CSD), the Ministry of the Interior, the National Police Force, the Guardia Civil, the Royal Spanish Football Federation, LaLiga and other professional leagues and the Attorney General's Office, is already studying last Saturday's incidents.
