Real Madrid's squad list for their Champions League round of 16 second leg is now official. There are no new inclusions so Thibaut Courtois plans to continue as planned. The Belgian goalkeeper is expected to return to action in April, so Carlo Ancelotti has called up young Fran Gonzalez for the visit of Leipzig.
'Los Blancos' won the first leg 1-0, so the tie is open for the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, where the home side are clear favourites. Even so, they have to be wary of a German side with a number of big names such as Dani Olmo and Xavi Simons, among others, and who are aware that they have to play with an attacking approach to turn the result around.
Meanwhile, the Spanish side will also focus on some domestic issues such as the call-up of Brahim Diaz to the Moroccan national team. Morocco have included him in the pre-list for their next call-up, for which it seems that Luis de la Fuente is also considering taking him into account.
He will soon have to make a decision on the matter, which may be conditioned by which national team he thinks will give him more opportunities.
Goalkeepers: Lunin, Kepa and Fran Gonzalez
Defenders: Carvajal, Nacho, Lucas Vazquez, Fran Garcia, Rudiger and Mendy
Midfielders: Bellingham, Kroos, Modric, Camavinga, Valverde, Tchouameni, Ceballos and Arda Guler
Forwards: Vinicius Jr, Rodrygo, Joselu and Brahim Diaz
