Homegrown centre-back Alvaro Carrillo has been called up to the first team by Carlo Ancelotti due to the absence of injured defenders Eder Militao and David Alaba, as well as Nacho Fernandez through suspension, for Real Madrid's La Liga game against Mallorca, for which Dani Carvajal, Vinicius Junior and Arda Guler return from injury.
Carlo Ancelotti is without the three seriously injured players Thibaut Courtois, Militao and Alaba and Ferland Mendy due to a muscular problem for the first game of 2024. In addition, Nacho has to serve a one-match suspension and Eduardo Camavinga is not expected to return.
Despite having trained three days with the rest of the squad and leaving behind a ruptured external lateral ligament in his right knee before the time set by the doctors, Ancelotti has been careful with Camavinga and he will not return until next week's Spanish Super Cup.
The good news for the Italian coach is the returns of Brazilian Vinicius and Dani Carvajal, as well as Arda Guler's recovery from his latest muscle injury. The Turkish midfielder has yet to make his Real Madrid debut after four months of competition after suffering a meniscus injury in pre-season and a string of muscular mishaps since recovering from surgery.
Kepa Arrizabalaga is included in the squad after recovering from flu, which, according to Ancelotti, will lead to his substitution against Mallorca, as is Lucas Vazquez after back problems. To reinforce a defence with four absentees, the Italian coach has called up Real Madrid's reserve team centre-back Alvaro Carrillo. From the youth squad, Nico Paz has also been included in the squad.

Goalkeepers: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Andriy Lunin, Fran Gonzalez.
Defenders: Lucas Vazquez, Dani Carvajal, Antonio Rudiger, Alvaro Carrillo, Fran Garcia.
Midfielders: Tchouameni, Luka Modric, Toni Kroos, Fede Valverde, Dani Ceballos, Jude Bellingham, Arda Guler, Nico Paz.
Forwards: Vinicius, Rodrygo Goes, Brahim Diaz, Joselu Mato.
