Madrid's Bellingham claims Messi 'deserves to win' the Ballon d'Or

Real Madrid and England star Jude Bellingham won the Kopa Trophy for the best player of last season aged under 21 at the Ballon d'Or ceremony in Paris on Monday.
The Madrid midfielder also finished 18th in the ranking for this year's Ballon d'Or, something he also alluded to when he gave his speech after receiving the award for the best player under 21.
For the former Bourssia Dortmund player, Leo Messi is the deserving winner of the most prestigious individual award in world football. "It's World Cup year and Lionel Messi had a fantastic World Cup, he deserves to win the Ballon d'Or," he said.
In addition, Bellingham also thanked all those who have supported him so far in his career and assured that he is aiming for the moon. "I want to thank everyone who supported me in my journey. From Birmingham, to Dortmund, now to Real Madrid. There is more to come," concluded the Englishman.
