Maffeo quits social media due to insults and threats from Madrid fans

Real Mallorca defender Pablo Maffeo has closed his X account on Monday following a wave of taunts from Real Madrid fans, who are visiting Son Moix on Saturday, following their Copa del Rey defeat against Athletic Club at La Cartuja on Saturday.
Most of the taunts and attacks on the Spanish-Argentine player have focused on his confrontation with Vinicius in last season's clash at the Balearic temple.
Pablo Maffeo branded the Brazilian a crybaby by making the gesture of wiping away tears at one point during the game at Son Moix, the same gesture the Mallorcan player made after losing the Copa final on penalties.
The South American footballer had 20,927 followers when he made the decision to close his X account. However, his personal Instagram profile is still open with 136,000 followers and 174 posts.
