Mallorca were eliminated in the semifinals of the Spanish Super Cup against Real Madrid. Their coach, Jagoba Arrasate, appeared in the press room and gave his first reactions on the matter.
“We competed with dignity. We were 1-0 down and it hurts to concede a goal like that. We thought we could equalise, but we struggled to steal the ball. And then the last two goals spoiled the game for us,” he said.
However, the coach of the Balearic team did not comment on the final brawl: “I was waiting for the end. Because if something happens, it will affect us in La Liga. Some of our players were out of their minds. But I was caught far away and I don't know what happened”.
“We were annoyed, angry. They played a decent game, but they ended up very tired. You're 0-0 at halftime and you have a chance to take the lead.... But you leave at the end with those three goals,” he concluded.
