Georgian international goalkeeper Giorgi Mamardashvili underwent a medical at a hospital in Valencia to complete his move to Liverpool. However, he will remain on loan at the La Liga club for another season.
The English club agreed to allow the goalkeeper to undergo the medical in Valencia so that he would not have to travel to England, in a week Ruben Baraja's side face crucial matches against Athletic Club on Wednesday and Villarreal next Saturday.
These medical tests were carried out just an hour after Valencia sporting director Miguel Angel Corona confirmed in a press conference that there is "a lot of closeness" to reach an agreement with the English club, who agreed that the goalkeeper will stay one more season on loan at Valencia.
Dinamo Tbilisi now have 10% of a possible sale of the player after negotiating the signing of the goalkeeper by Valencia in the summer of 2021, in addition to an amount close to 750,000 euros, so Valencia wanted to increase the fixed amount as much as possible.
In fact, Mamardashvili proposed to stay on loan at Valencia for another season in case his move to Liverpool, who wanted to loan him out to a Premier League team, was completed.
