Pep Guardiola's contract with Manchester City expires in June 2025, with doubts about an uncertain future for both the English club and the Spanish manager.
Neither the Premier League side nor Guardiola have given any clues about a possible renewal with the 53-year-old rumoured to be leaving the Etihad Stadium in the summer. However, according to reports in England, the City board are confident that Guardiola will end up renewing his current contract.
But they want to disassociate themselves from their alleged interest in Ruben Amorim, who is the favourite to replace Erik ten Hag at Manchester United. United chief executive Omar Berrada joined the Red Devils from City in the summer and is thought to have been aware of his old team's early contingency plans.
However, some Man City insiders have insisted Amorim was not on any agenda, despite appointing Sporting’s Hugo Viana to replace City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain at the end of this season.
