Manchester City announced on Friday their list of retained and released players for the 2023/24 Premier League campaign and they ruled out Ilkay Gundogan, who will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of June.

Manchester City announced on Friday their retained and released lists for the upcoming Premier League season. The rumours are true and skipper Ilkay Gundogan will leave the Etihad Stadium at the end of June.
The 32-year-old has had a superb campaign and several European clubs such as Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are interested in signing him.
Pep Guardiola's side have offered him a renewal several times but the German has decided to leave after seven seasons at City. His future is uncertain but many reports have strongly linked him to the Catalan giants.
As a result, Gundogan could play in La Liga next season and be under the orders of Xavi Hernandez. Terrell Nana Obeng Agyemang, Rowan Alexander McDonald and Benjamin Mendy will also leave the Sky Blues as free agents.
