Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola's contract situation is far from a mystery and with his contract set to expire, the club has been preparing a possible scenario should he not continue.
Although the Catalan manager has several suitors, including the England national team, he recently stated that he has not yet decided what he will do in the future.
“I've not decided anything, everything can happen. So I don't know,' he recently said of his future. I still need to reflect and decide what I want to do”.
The Guardian has reported that the Sky Blues are ‘seriously considering’ Sporting CP boss Ruben Amorim as a candidate to replace the former Barcelona boss.
Hugo Viana's arrival at Manchester City to replace sporting director Txiki Bergiristain could help in a move for Amorim.
Viana was responsible for bringing Amorim to Sporting CP from Braga for around £10million and they could now meet again at the Manchester club.
The Portuguese coach is considered one of the best young coaches in Europe and although he was linked with Liverpool and West Ham this summer he decided to stay in Portugal, where he has won two cups and a Supercup as well as taking the team to the last 16 of the Champions League.
