Rodrigo Hernandez, recent Ballon d'Or winner, will be honoured this Saturday before Manchester City's match against Tottenham at the Etihad Stadium.
The Madrid-born player, who has been on a trip to Spain, won the top individual award a few weeks ago, ahead of Brazilian Vinicius Junior in the voting, and will return to his home stadium this Saturday to be honoured.
Rodri will be greeted on the pitch with the award, the first player in the history of the Sky Blues to win it. City have asked fans to be in their seats 20 minutes before the game and have offered to print Rodri's name for free on all shirts purchased between now and Sunday.
The Spain international is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament injury suffered in a draw against Arsenal. The initial prognosis was that he would miss the entire season, but the midfielder wants to be available for the new FIFA Club World Cup to be played between June and July.
