Manchester City trained on Monday, for the last time before travelling to Madrid, without Kyle Walker, Nathan Ake and Josko Gvardiol. Pep Guardiola, barring a last-minute surprise, will be without all three players for the Champions League quarter-final first leg against Real Madrid.
Walker has missed City' s last three games after suffering a hamstring injury in the international break, Ake was injured against Arsenal and missed both Aston Villa and Crystal Palace, while Gvardiol was substituted early against Palace as a precaution and did not take part in the open press session.
It would not be the first time that Guardiola has held back a player during the part of the training session open to the public - about 15 minutes - in order to hide his intentions for the match.
The rest of the Man City squad, including Erling Haaland, Kevin de Bruyne and Rodrigo Hernandez, all of whom started in the win over Palace on Saturday, were present at training.
Manchester City squad list: Ruben Dias, John Stones, Mateo Kovacic, Erling Haaland, Jack Grealish, Jeremy Doku, Rodrigo, Kevin De Bruyne, Stefan Ortega Moreno, Julian Alvarez, Bernardo Silva, Sergio Gomez, Josko Gvardiol, Manuel Akanji, Matheus Nunes, Ederson, Scott Carson, Phil Foden, Oscar Bobb, Mahamadou Susoho, Rico Lewis.
