Manchester City striker Julián Álvarez has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for September. The Argentinian helped the Sky Blues stay top of the table and in September he scored 2 goals and provided 2 assists.
'La Araña' could become the fourth Argentinian to win the award, after Sebastián Verón (1), Carlos Tévez (1) and Sergio Agüero (7). And in this way, he would inherit the August throne, owned by James Maddison.
His rivals for the award are West Ham's Jarrod Bowen, Wolves' Pedro Neto, Liverpool's Mohamed Salah, Tottenham's Heung-Min Son, Newcastle's Kieran Trippier and Aston Villa's Ollie Watkins.
The winner will be announced next week after voting by a panel of experts and fans. Julián Álvarez is in vogue and the award would justify and confirm the World Champion's form in Qatar.
