There has been some controversy surrounding Liverpool full-back Trent Alexander-Arnold in recent days after he said that recent trophies won by the Reds mean more than those won by Manchester City, as the Anfield outfit are not a Saudi-backed club.
Responses were swift from the Sky Blues and the one who fired back was Erling Haaland, who said the England full-back could not talk about what it means to the Cityzens because he does not know what it feels like to win a treble, something the Norwegian striker has achieved in his first season in England.
Mancunian manager Pep Guardiola was asked about Alexander-Arnold's comments ahead of Manchester City's crucial clash with Liverpool and the Spaniard did not want to create more controversy than has already been generated.
"We know who we are, what we have to do, to continue to be there. Alexander-Arnold? We are in a world that the people have an opinion. What he said is what a lot of people think. It’s not news, I would say. That’s why it’s not necessary to say much," he said.
