Manchester United are tantalisingly close to sealing the deal for Inter Milan's Andre Onana. The Red Devils ramped up their negotiations over the goalkeeper following the departure of long-serving David de Gea, who left the club when his contract expired in June, after 12 years with the Manchester club.
Now, it's apparently just a matter of time before United are able to announce his replacement, as 'Daily Mail' report that talks between the two clubs are close to concluding, with the fee expected to be around £43 million.
Journalist and transfer specialist, Fabrizio Romano wrote on Sunday that the final checks are on the payment terms of the deal, before the Cameroonian travels to Manchester. He also reported that United manager, Erik ten Hag, called Onana very recently, to confirm that there were no issues with the deal.
The Red Devils want Onana to join them as they head to the USA on a pre-season tour, where they will face off against teams like Real Madrid and Arsenal. Their new keeper is used to the big stage, having played for Inter all the way through their last Champions League campaign, taking them to the final against Man City. He made 41 appearances in total last season.
