The English team's financial situation could be affected if they do not qualify for the Champions League, a competition they are currently out of, so the Englishman would be a guaranteed option at zero cost.
Several clubs had already had their eye on the player, though, following his good performances. One of the most talked about was Juventus, who would be willing to sign him for next season.
