According to the Mirror, Manchester United are reconsidering their options for a new striker this summer, with a move for Viktor Gyokeres now looking unlikely.

Viktor Gyokeres had been strongly linked with a switch to Old Trafford, especially after the arrival of Ruben Amorim, who coached the Swedish forward at Sporting Lisbon. However, reports suggest that the 25-year-old prioritises joining a club competing in next season's Champions League, which United cannot yet guarantee.
Sporting are open to selling their star striker but are expected to demand around €70 million, a fee the Red Devils are hesitant to meet, particularly with Gyokeres turning 27 in June.
With both Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee struggling for consistency this season, bolstering the attack remains a priority. The club will now explore other options as they look to bolster their frontline for the upcoming campaign.
Meanwhile, the club's pursuit of a No.9 will also depend on its financial situation and potential player sales. The club is expected to assess its squad in the coming months before finalising its transfer targets. But, at the moment, the Red Devils are now turning their attention to Benjamin Sesko and Liam Delap as alternative targets.
