Man Utd legend Schmeichel aims dig at Etihad atmosphere in Inter UCL clash

Former Manchester United goalkeeper Peter Schmeichel aimed a dig at Manchester City fans after their side's goaless draw against Inter Milan on Wednesday.
The United legend expressed his disappointement in the atmosphere of the stadium in a conversation post-match with 'CBS Sports'. "I like good football and I like excitement from the crowd. It was dead. The Etihad today was absolutely dead. The only people we could hear were the Inter supporters who were quite good. But there's no atmosphere in the Etihad today," said the Danish.
Schmeichel further explain that he expected way for from the home supporters, given that it was a Champions League match. "Normally you'd think 'well, a big European night", but it didn't happen for them".
Micah Richards, one of the hosts in 'CBS Sport's coverage of the Champions League, jokingly tried to get back at the former goalie, as he said: "Are you disrespecting my club?" in response to Schmeichel's criticism - Micah Richards played for Man City from 2005 to 2014, winninh a Premier League title wih the club.
"You should have been there on Saturday, Pete," Richards continued - referencing City's Premier League game against Brentford - as he tried to defend his old club. Nevertheless, Schmeichel was firm on his stance, claiming: "They might have left the atmosphere there on Saturday. Honestly, it was so flat".
