Manchester United beat Newcastle United 3-2 in the Premier League on Wednesday at Old Trafford. Erik ten Hag's men might be experiencing the worst season in their history but they did their homework to turn their fortunes around.

Manchester United were leading at half-time thanks to Mainoo's opener despite Newcastle's best efforts of the first half. Casemiro was playing a prominent role after all the criticism he has received for his performances as a centre-back. However, the Red Devils' luck ran out when Gordon, who had shone at Old Trafford, scored an equaliser in the 49th minute. However, Diallo restored his side's lead after fighting to score throughout the match. Hojlund, who came on for the last few minutes of the game, sealed United's victory. Hall netted a consolation goal but it was not enough to rescue a point in Manchester.
