Getafe chairman Angel Torres admitted that Barcelona president Joan Laporta asked him about Mason Greenwood's situation when they met at a La Liga match but his interest in the English winger is now in the past. He also confirmed Manchester United's plans to sell him in the summer.

In late January 2022, Mason Greenwood's girlfriend accused him of abuse. She posted several photographs of bruises and injuries she said the Manchester United player had inflicted on her.
The Red Devils loaned him to Getafe a few months later, coinciding with the start of the current season. The problem is that he is under contract until 2026 and the Old Trafford board are planning to sell him this summer.
At the moment, several suitors have come to light, such as Juventus but nothing is closed or advanced. President Angel Torres confessed in an interview with 'Radio Marca' that he would like to have the Englishman for one more season and that the deal could go ahead.
"If it depends on the boy and his parents, he will continue, United seem to want to sell him but I think he will stay. Atletico haven't asked me, the only one who asked me was Laporta when he was here. I spoke to him and Deco," he said.
"To sign, all the teams, not only Barcelona, but also Getafe, Atletico... we need, first, to sell and then to buy. That's why it's going to be a long summer. It's the problem that 80% of the clubs have," he concluded.
