Cody Gakpo has a PSV contract until 2026, but it seems like he will not be there by then. The footballer could make the step up to the Premier League ahead of the 2023-24 season. Next summer he will pack his bags and move to Old Trafford.
Man Utd are looking for someone to take over from Cristiano Ronaldo and the Dutchman is the big favourite. Erik ten Hag, who is well aware of Gakpo's quality given he used to coach Ajax, one of PSV's rivals, needs to strengthen up top.
According to the 'Mirror', the club have gone for Gakpo. The Premier League side have reportedly struck a deal with the attacker for him to join them in summer 2023.
PSV, despite the fact they would like to keep Gakpo, understand that it will be difficult to do so given Man Utd are after him. The club are trying to get at least 50 million euros for his sale, an amount which the English outfit have not ended up offering yet.
Man Utd have calculated how much they are looking to spend in the summer given that Gakpo is not the only player they want at all costs. They are also interested in Frenkie de Jong and Bellingham. In total, they will spend over 200 million pounds.
