Manchester United midfielder Casemiro is edging closer to a loan move to Flamengo, with reports indicating that the Red Devils have agreed to cover most of his salary. The Brazilian transfer window remains open until February 28th, giving Flamengo time to finalise what has been described as a "very risky business" deal.
Journalist Jorge Nicola confirmed Flamengo’s interest, stating, "I can assure you that Flamengo investigated the player’s situation in the last few days. The English club agree to loan him and help with part of his salary."
Casemiro, who joined United in 2022 for £60 million plus add-ons, has fallen out of favour under new manager Ruben Amorim. The 31-year-old has been an unused substitute in nine of United’s last eleven Premier League matches, with Amorim preferring younger midfield options like Kobbie Mainoo and Toby Collyer.
Despite his struggles, Casemiro remains a high-profile player, and Flamengo manager Filipe Luis reportedly sees him as a valuable addition to their squad. If completed, this deal could provide Casemiro with an opportunity to revitalise his career.
