Manchester United are in crisis and it is no secret. The Red Devils are in sixth place on 54 points, trying to fight for the European places before the end of the season.
However, their goals are not going their way as they have drawn three of their last five matches, losing one and winning the other. Changes to the squad are widely expected for next campaign following the arrival of co-owner Jim Ratcliffe.
As a result, according to reports in England, almost the entire United squad is up for sale in the upcoming transfer window, including manager Erik ten Hag. His side's 1-1 draw against Burnley appears to have been a turning point in his future and the board are considering several options to replace him.
The Dutch coach has been heavily linked with a return to Ajax, who have suffered a disastrous season. But his future remains uncertain at the moment.
Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund are the only players that the current board want to keep at all costs, meaning stars such as Marcus Rashford, Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro are in danger of being sold this summer.
The English side want to strengthen every position but are especially looking for a new striker, central midfielder and right-sided centre back but will not be able to invest too much in those signings.
Premier League clubs have reportedly agreed in principle to introduce a spending cap to limit the gap in financial muscle between sides at the top and bottom of the English league.
The project received at least the 14 votes necessary from the 20 clubs to be approved. But defending champions Manchester City, Manchester United and Aston Villa are among those to have reportedly rejected the proposal, with Chelsea said to have abstained.
