Injuries have been the main topic of discussion in the world of football at the moment, as Kobbie Mainoo joins the long list of players who have withdrawn from their respective national sides due to injuries. After Argentina's Garnacho and Morocco's Mazraoui, Mainoo is the third Manchester United player to be sidelined during the interantional break.
The midfielder will sit out England's upcoming Nations League matches against Greece on Thursday and Finland on Sunday alongise Morgan Gibbs-White and Ezri Konsa, who have also sustained injuries during their recent league matches.
"Kobbie Mainoo, Ezri Konsa and Morgan Gibbs-White have withdrawn from the Three Lions squad following injuries sustained over the weekend. Speedy recovery, lads!" reads the national team's announcement posted on their social media.
While all is not lost for Man United, as the extent of Mainoo's injury is yet to be confirmed. On the other hand, Lee Carsley finds himself in a difficult position ahead of the two fixtures, as captain Harry Kane also remains a doubt after suffering an injury in Bayern Munich's game against Frankfurt.
