Lisandro Martinez will not join the Argentina national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifying games during the November international break. The confirmation arrived from the 'Albiceleste' on Tuesday.
"Facundo Medina from Lens has been called up to replace Lisandro Martinez, who will be out of the squad," reads Argentina's statement posted on their official X account - formerly known as Twitter.
The defender is reportedly unavailable due to fitness concerns, though confirmation on his conditions will arrive soon as he awaits to be assessed by the Manchester United medical staff.
Scaloni's men play against Paraguay on Friday (00:30 CET) before hosting Peru on Wednesday (01:00 CET). Should Medina feature in the either of the matches, he would be making his return on the pitch for Argentina after three years.
