Manchester United have a goal drought that needs to be addressed this winter transfer window, so it is expected that the Red Devils will make a move for a striker this January.
The Mancunians have struggled to score goals in the first half of the season, having scored just 37 goals in 28 games played so far, a low figure considering they have conceded 45.
That is why Erik ten Hag has reportedly asked the English club's board to bring in a reinforcement for their attacking line this January. According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United already have four strikers on their radar and will try to land one of them before February.
Bayern Munich striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting is one possible option. The 34-year-old striker stepped up to fill the void left by Robert Lewandowski at Bayern Munich last term, but this season he has fallen down the pecking order behind Harry Kane, who is in red-hot form. So it is possible that the Cameroon international might look favourably on joining Manchester United.
Elsewhere, another player of the Bundesliga champions is being targeted by the Red Devils: Thomas Muller. The veteran striker of the Bavarians has just renewed his contract with the German club and this arrival is less possible, but due to his lack of playing time, a possible loan move until the end of the season should not be ruled out.
It has also been reported that the Mancunian club have been in touch with RB Leipzig striker and former Chelsea attacker Timo Werner. The German striker has been a regular substitute for Lois Openda and Poulsen, so a move to Manchester United could be a good solution for him to regain his best form.
Finally, Ten Hag's side are reportedly in the race with Newcastle for Bundesliga surprise package Serhou Guirassy, who has scored an impressive 19 goals in 16 games so far.
