Manchester United left it incredibly late to beat Premier League rivals Brentford 2-1 on Saturday, October 7th, 2023. They were 1-0 down thanks to a goal in the 26th minute of the first half from Brentford's Mathias Jensen.
In the 87th minute, Scottish international Scott McTominay came off from the bench to replace new arrival Sofyan Amrabat. Trailing 1-0 with 92:46 showing on the clock, the midfielder equalised before adding the winner four minutes later in the 97th minute.
Was this astonishing late comeback a turning point for Manchester United, or did they just get lucky? Let's take a closer look.
