After a series of poor results in the Premier League, Leeds United made the decision to sack Jesse Marsch as manager.
As a result of this, sporting director Victor Orta and his team have begun the search for a replacement for the rest of the season and tried to hire Marcelo Gallardo, who is currently free after leaving River Plate in Argentina.
However, 'TyC Sports' reports that the Argentinian coach ruled out the chance to move to West Yorkshire as he would rather start a project from scratch instead of joining a club halfway through the season.
Gallardo will wait until the end of the current season before taking off his first managerial role in Europe. Up to now, neither Leeds nor Ajax could persuade him to join their respective teams.
Therefore, Leeds are continuing with their search after the rejections of both Rayo's Andoni Iraola and now Marcelo Gallardo. Real Madrid B team coach Raul Gonzalez and West Brom manager Carlos Corberan are the main candidates, but caretaker Michael Skubala will remain in charge for Sunday's home match with Man Utd.
