Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund's qualification for the last 16 was not the only positive news for Marco Reus on Wednesday night. The playmaker, who had not played in the team's previous two Bundesliga games, was back in action and rewarded Terzic for his faith with a late goal in his side's 2-0 win over PSV.
More remarkably, the Signal Iduna Park club's all-time great reached 250 wins in the jersey of what has been the team of his career. Although many see Reus as a 'One Club Man', the Dortmund native made his debut for Rot Weiss Ahlen and had to earn his place in his hometown team with good performances for Borussia Monchengladbach.
Reus arrived at Signal Iduna Park at the age of 23 in 2012-13, when Jurgen Klopp turned the German side into one of the most attractive clubs on the Old Continent. Eleven years on, the international playmaker is now in his 12th season with the club, with whom he has claimed 250 wins in 416 games. The 34-year-old's offensive tally stands at 168 goals and 102 assists.
By season, the best was undoubtedly 2013-14, when he managed 23 goals and 18 assists. He then generated 31 goals in both 2012-13 (19 goals and 12 assists) and 2018-19 (21 and 10). In 2015-16, he was down to 30, with 23 goals and 7 assists, and in 2021-22 he managed to contribute 28 goals thanks to his 13 goals and 15 assists to his teammates.

After having already seen a decline in his participation in the 2022-23 campaign- he went from 3,446 minutes to 1,806 - so far in 2023-24 he has already enjoyed more playing time than in the previous season (1,815) and is close to the offensive contribution achieved a year ago. However, his figures are a far cry from the brilliance of previous seasons and Reus has adapted to his new, less prominent role.
The playmaker made his debut for Borussia Dortmund on 12th August 2012 in a 2-1 defeat to Bayern Munich in the Super Cup final. His first win came a few days later, on 18th August, in a 3-0 DFB-Pokal win over minnows Oberneuland. He also scored his first team goal in that match, while his first assist came on 15th September in a Borussia Dortmund-Bayer Leverkusen 3-0 win.
By season Reus' wins are distributed as follows: 26 in 2012-13, 29 in 2013-14, 14 in 2014-15, 30 in 2015-16, 13 in 2016-17, 6 in 2017-18, 24 in 2018-19, 15 in 2019-20, 31 in 2020-21, 25 in 2021-22, 21 in 2022-23 and 16 so far in 2023-24.
Finally, the clubs Marco Reus has beaten the most times with Borussia Dortmund are Borussia Monchengladbach, with 15 wins in 18 games; Werder Bremen, with 14 victories in 19 games; and Freiburg, Stuttgart and Wolfsburg, with 13 triumphs respectively in 16, 18 and 19 meetings.
