New Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca spoke to the media ahead of the team's departure for the USA tour and commented on the situation of players still on holiday from their EURO campaign such as Cole Palmer and Marc Cucurella.
The former Leicester boss said that both internationals will take part in training at Cobham with the rest of their team-mates next Friday, although when they will be back in action is more difficult to say. On the other hand, Nicolas Jackson did take part in the USA tour but did not play because of injury.
"We will see when they play - not sure for Inter, hopefully for the City game. They are all important players. In terms of numbers, Cole and Nico scored almost 40 goals so they are both very important, and Marc to. The important thing is they start training with us, and soon we can use them," said the Chelsea boss.
Maresca also commented on Enzo Fernandez's involvement as captain of the Blues, although he did not confirm whether the Argentine will be vice-captain of the Stamford Bridge side this season.
"Enzo is one of the important players. Reece when we changed him gave the armband to Enzo, and this shows how Enzo is respected inside the squad, it’s very clear."
