Marquinhos believes everyone expected PSG to be worse in summer

PSG's Brazil international Marquinhos lamented his side's exit at the hands of Borussia Dortmund">Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League semi-finals, but pleaded to take the positives from a season that "few people" imagined in the summer that they could get to where they have.
"We have to keep gaining experience, I think it's very difficult to get this far. You have to play against big teams and, at the start of the season, few people imagined we would get this far. We did it on merit," he told Movistar after the French side's 1-0 defeat on Tuesday.
He praised Dortmund, who he said showed that they are a "very effective" team who defended "very well and knew how to take advantage of the chance" they had from a corner to seal the tie.
"This is the Champions League, we have to extract the positive points, improve what we have to improve, we know that there have been many changes this season and there are going to be even more changes," the Brazilian concluded.
