Inter Milan have capped a fantastic season with the Serie A title. Undoubtedly, much of this success has come from Lautaro Martinez, who has become the top goalscorer in the competition with 24 goals, with one game still to play.
The Argentinian striker, who has a contract until 2026, has more than earned his renewal. However, negotiations appear to be stalled. However, his agent Alejandro Camano said in an interview for 'FcInterNews' the player's intentions.
"Lautaro Martinez wants with all his heart to stay at Inter. But we have to reach an agreement that satisfies all parties involved. The club recently moved to new owners, so I guess they have to sort out their internal problems. Then we will see each other, as always," he said.
"It's a club he loves. Lautaro feels 100 per cent part of it. He still has two years left on his contract, this means he has two years left to define the situation. What do I mean? That until 2026 only Inter can make the decision to sell him. At the moment, he is very happy with his current contract until 2026."
Camano also revealed the club's own intentions: "Inter want to renew. And we have already said yes, because Lautaro is very happy at Inter. He wants to stay and renew, but we will have to talk about the player he has become today.
"If for everyone he is comparable to a Haaland, to a Mbappe, to players of the highest international level, you have to start here. In Italy there are footballers who earn more and have done less. We haven't spoken to any club about his possible transfer," concluded Lautaro Martinez's agent.
