Wesley Fofana looked set to be a key player in Mauricio Pochettino's plans this season. However, the French centre-back suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the summer before the campaign even began.
The 23-year-old defender was supposed to be in with a chance of featuring for Chelsea this season, but according to the latest injury updates from his coach it appears that Fofana will not be able to enjoy game time this campaign.
The Argentine manager told the press conference ahead of the Blues' Premier League match against Brentford that "it looks like" we won't see Fofana on the pitch before the end of the season, but in football "you never know".
"I don’t think we will see him back before the end of this season, unfortunately. You never know, of course. But it looks like this now," said the Argentine.
