Kylian Mbappe wants to continue to make history in the ranks of the French national team. The 24-year-old captain, ahead of Antoine Griezmann, is aiming to equal Michel Platini next.
The Paris Saint-Germain striker has scored 38 goals in 67 international appearances for Les Bleus, while 'Le Roi' scored 41, with five more caps.
Ireland is the next wall the France captain wants to break down. He has only faced the Irish once before, when he was just 19 years old.
In that match, a friendly played on 28 May 2018, just before the World Cup he would go on to win, Mbappe provided an assist for Nabil Fekir, now seriously injured.
To equal Platini, Mbappe has to do what he has done twice for France, score a hat trick or more. Against Kazakhstan he scored a hat-trick, while against Argentina in the final of the last World Cup, he scored all three goals for France.
