France are through to the quarter-finals after a spectacular performance from Mbappe, who provided an assist and scored the remaining two goals for 'Les Bleus' in a 3-1 win over Poland.
The first of his own, France's 2-0 win in the 74th minute, helped him forget the poor second half he had been playing, with a spectacular curling strike past Szczesny into the top corner.
Mbappe sealed Poland's fate in stoppage time, in the 91st minute, when he received inside the box, cut inside, and beat the Pole goalkeeper once more with an unstoppable right-footed shot into the top corner.
Lewandowski then pulled one back with a goal from the penalty spot, but it was only a minor highlight of a sensational evening for Mbappe, who has now scored nine goals in just two World Cups, overtaken Messi and already surpassed Cristiano Ronaldo in this competition.
