Kylian Mbappe and his family can save a historic French club. It is SM Caen, currently in Ligue 2 and suffering from financial problems.
The Real Madrid footballer through KM7, the company run by his mother wants to become a shareholder of Caen, which is bankrupt and looking for investors, explained 'Ouest France'.
Caen is closely linked with Mbappe. Before signing for Monaco in 2013, the now French star came close to joining the Ligue 2 side but eventually left for the Principality. He even had a trial at the club. Both he and his family were fond of the club, which is now in need of help.
Daniel Riolo, journalist of 'RMC Sports', confirmed the intention of Mbappe's family: "The Mbappe family is currently about to try to buy the Stade Malherbe of Caen".
Caen's co-owner, Pierre-Antoine Capton, is the one who made public the intention to look for new partners to buy the shares of Oaktree, the investment fund that bought Caen years ago. The intention, in the medium term, is to move up to Ligue 1.
