Initial scans have ruled out a serious injury to Kylian Mbappe. The Frenchman has a slight ankle sprain. He will undergo medical tests on Friday.
Kylian Mbappe caused a scare by saying goodbye to the game and the play-offs with a quarter of an hour left. In an action that ended with him fouling Rice, his right ankle got caught and twisted.
The first scans he has undergone are promising. The Frenchman suffers a slight sprain of his right ankle and it is not serious. He will undergo medical tests on Friday, the club told the media.
The alarm bells went off in the middle of the game against Arsenal. Not just because of losing him in the time remaining, with the tie going uphill, but because of the schedule Real Madrid are facing.
In just 10 days' time, on Saturday next week, Real face the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. And in less than a month's time, another 'Clasico', this one in the league, which could decide the title.
